History and ways of thinking
Eiheiji, Fukui Castle and local traditions create questions about discipline, leadership, community and how values are carried forward.

JAPANESE LANGUAGE + CULTURAL IMMERSION
Japanese language and culture become one experience in Fukui.
Culture is not a list of tourist attractions. It lives in how people work, cooperate, make things, care for a neighbourhood and pass knowledge to the next generation.
REAL-WORLD JAPANESE
In a city such as Fukui, the same local companies, schools, public bodies and residents can become continuing partners in learning. Students can prepare questions in class, meet people in the community, use Japanese for a real purpose, then return to class to reflect and improve.
Eiheiji, Fukui Castle and local traditions create questions about discipline, leadership, community and how values are carried forward.
Eyewear, textiles and local manufacturing show how Japanese craftsmanship, technology and teamwork operate in practice.
Rules, manners, neighbourhood life and communication are learned as part of living—not as isolated facts in a textbook.
THE FLA LEARNING CYCLE
NOT A TOURIST PROGRAM
FLA’s listed 2027 courses are designed for international students preparing for long-term Japanese study: two years from April, one year and nine months from July, and one year and six months from October. Japanese-language education remains the foundation. Community learning supports that foundation; it does not replace systematic language study.
The goal is not to promise a visa or job. It is to help students understand Japan, follow its rules, communicate with other people and build the ability to choose a responsible next step.
