Not just a language school
Japanese is the foundation. We build on it.
Everything here does rest on Japanese. Without it, further study, daily life and any real contact with the people around you all stall, so that is where our time goes first.
Beyond it, what we work towards is being able to stand on your own feet inside Japanese society.
Japanese language
Four periods a day, Monday to Friday — with the aim that what you learn in class becomes usable in daily life and out in the community.
Understanding Japan
Systems, rules, manners, how neighbourhoods work. The things you actually need, taught head-on.
Inquiry
It starts with "why?". You practise forming questions instead of memorising answers.
Project work
Plan it, prepare it, do it, then look back. Learning does not stop at the classroom door.
All of Fukui
Local companies, schools, the city government and residents — a good deal of the teaching happens outside the building.
Teachers who guide
They don't hand over the answer. Fifteen Japanese-language teachers stay with you until you can do it.
Staff who support
Residence procedures, housing, health, pathways. If daily life falls apart, studying becomes impossible.
A path you choose
Not "wherever will take me", but "where I want to go" — decided by you.
These eight are not separate services. They support one another, and together they make one education.
What you become
Who we hope you will be by the time you leave.
Passing an examination matters, and we will prepare you for it. But what we are really working towards is that you can direct your own life here — and use what you learned, whether you stay in Japan or return home.

Why Fukui
Why study here, of all places?
Fukui isn't just where the school happens to be. Fukui itself is our teaching material.
It has been ranked Japan's happiest prefecture, and its children rank near the top nationally in both academic and physical performance. Its eyeglass frames account for the large majority of Japan's domestic production — a small place whose craft reaches the world. The national University of Fukui is here, and our campus sits nearby, in the city's education district.
Above all, society is close at hand here. Local companies, schools, the city government and residents are all within easy reach, so contact with them can be built into ordinary weeks rather than saved for special occasions.
Why have so many company founders come from this one region?
That question becomes a lesson here.

Our stance
What we hold ourselves to.
We set out plainly what we do, and we are just as plain about what lies outside our control. Choosing where to study abroad is a serious decision, and you should be able to make it with the full picture.
What we do
- Teach Japanese you can use the same evening, not only in an exam
- Go through the rules and manners of life in Japan with you before you travel
- Support housing, procedures, health and pathways with specialist staff
- Keep your family, financial supporter and partner organisation informed
- Do it with you first, and stay until you can do it alone
What we say honestly
- Residence status and visas are decided by the government, not the school
- We cannot guarantee a particular school or job after graduation
- We will not tell you part-time work alone covers tuition and living costs
- We will not answer as if certain about something we cannot verify
